Team Clermont 15 Year Anniversary Summer Showcase

For many music lovers, summer is all about music festivals. But also for so many music lovers, the likes of Bonnaroo and Coachella can be out of reach. Expensive ticket prices, not to mention travel costs can be prohibitive to many fans. That’s why I was so excited to hear that Team Clermont, a PR and radio promotions company based in Athens, GA, would be holding a summer showcase to celebrate their fifteen year anniversary. From July 26-28, Team Clermont will host two showcases at the newly remodeled Georgia Theatre, with line-ups headlined by Olivia Tremor Control (Athens, GA) and Bear In Heaven (Brooklyn, NY), and including Crooked Fingers, Pattern Is Movement, Wild Moccasins, Dent May, and Jacksonville’s own ex-pat, Astronautalis.

Unlike the mega-festivals of the summer, where you spend days sweating in the summer heat and wading through a sea of equally sweaty strangers, getting dirty and hoping to get a glimpse of your music rock gods on a stage half a football field away, TC15 offers a much more accessible music going experience. The Georgia Theatre which reopened last summer after being gutted by a fire in 2009, offers a more intimate setting for patrons – oh, AND air-conditioning. And with the entire festival being only $25 for a wristband (tickets for individual nights are also available), it really is an amazingly affordable event.

In addition to the two night showcase, the festival will also include a record fair and the return of the “K’s vs W’s Kickball Showdown” where Astronautalis will be performing (as well as fulfilling a lifelong dream to be a sports announcer by calling the game). The entire event closes out with the Team Clermont Prom on Saturday, featuring Yacht Rock Revue performing a set of all the best songs from the 80s with their “Reagan Rock Prom.”

Here are some downloads they’ve put up for free:
Bear In Heaven “The Reflection of You
Olivia Tremor Control “The Game You Play Is In Your Head (Parts 1, 2, and 3)”
Pattern Is Movement “
Light of the World
Crooked Fingers “

Dent May “
Fun
