Errors – Rumours in Africa

Ahhh yeah, you know a song is gonna be good when the band spells rumors R-U-M-O-U-R-S!!

Today’s song of the day comes at you straight outta Scotland (could this become a recurring thing here at Synconation??). Errors is a four-piece post-electro band from Glasgow. I recently had a chance to see them open for Mogwai in Atlanta (be sure to check out our recent review of that show) and I was totally drawn in by their infectious brand of synthy, dance pop. The first obvious reference that I drew when I heard this song was a similarity to their British counterparts, Foals. Not overtly synth-heavy, but not quite straight-forward rock music, these young chaps manage to strike a great balance between danceable yet complex song structure.

Rumours in Africa” is one of the few hits that Errors has to offer, and hopefully will help you clear that last hurdle until you make it to the weekend.

Best place and time to listen: Friday! FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN!!! (head explodes)

Errors is currently signed to Mogwai’s Rock Action Records label. You can find out more info about the band at their website.
