Netherfriends, aka Shawn Rosenblatt, is picking up where Sufjan Stevens left off in a sense. “Bloomington, IN” is from an album recorded in 2010 (and I believe may still be in process) called Middle America. He’s committing to recording a song in every state and you can track his progress on this tumblr. I love the atmosphere he’s created in this track. It echoes with forgiveness and regret, while staying upbeat and jangly; like an early Beulah track but recorded 10 years later.
