Daughn Gibson is one of few new artists from 2012 that I didn’t forget about after two weeks. He’s a truck driver from Pennsylvania making haunting synth-driven western music that explores tradedy in small town and working class settings. Musically he echoes the talent and the feelings behind the music of both Roy Orbison and Morrissey while still sounding thoroughly modern. I want to compare him to more artists but no one else is really doing the electronic drone meets country thing. Yet.
